Sorting things out when a relationship ends, in a calm, fair & sensible way
Our core work is in helping parents and couples make plans for the future and sort out practical arrangements to do with children and property and finance following divorce and separation.
We also:
- Assist grandparents / other family members wishing to make arrangements for contact with grandchildren / nieces / nephews.
- Work with family members where there has been a break-down in communication leading to conflict and stress.
- Provide a place for regular contact between children and parents at our child contact centres in Halifax and Wakefield.
Our mediators are fully qualified professionals, skilled in helping people work out the practical issues that come with relationship breakdown. They bring a balance to your discussions and will help you communicate so that things can be agreed and each of you can move on with your lives.
Appointments with our Service are available in towns across West Yorkshire - or we can put you in touch with a Mediation Service in your own area.
West Yorkshire Family Mediation Service can access legal aid for some types of mediation for those on low incomes.
West Yorkshire Family Mediation Service is affiliated to National Family Mediation (NFM) and to the National Association of Child Contact Centres (NACCC); it is part of Community Legal Services and is a registered charity.
West Yorkshire Family Mediation Service has been providing family mediation services in West Yorkshire for over 20 years.
